T. H. Kingerlee & Sons Limited is the development company within the Group, whose early projects included 84 apartments and houses at Chelsea Square, Cheltenham, 24 new houses at Lechlade Manor in Lechlade, and 84 apartments at the Lion Brewery, Oxford.  We also completed a mixed use scheme at Park End Street, Oxford comprising office/retail, high quality apartments, affordable housing and student accommodation. During this period the Company began to raise its awareness of sustainability issues, looking to take practical measures to reduce carbon emissions, save energy through lower utility bills, and utilise natural materials.

T. H. Kingerlee & Sons Limited, trading as Kingerlee Homes, carried out a joint venture partnership with Lifehaus PLC, a residential property development company with similar aims, building a ground breaking development in Bladon, Oxfordshire.

Kingerlee Homes is a founder member of the Good Homes Alliance whose members are committed to working to substantially reduce the negative impacts of new housing and renovation on the environment as well as increasing the factors that contribute to the well being of the occupants of their properties. As a member we also commit to monitor the performance of a selection of the properties that we build for up to two years. It is through monitoring and testing that we learn the effectiveness of the systems we employ. This has been clearly demonstrated in The Natural House, built jointly with the Prince’s Foundation, on the Innovation Park at The Building Research Establishment at Watford. This building has been extensively tested and monitored, and the building systems employed found to be extremely effective. The building systems employed at the Natural House were supplied by Natural Building Technologies Limited.

Maintaining the delivery of highly efficient, low energy homes Kingerlee Homes built a small development, including an energy efficient Barn Conversion, at Sutton Courtenay, and a larger scheme of apartments and town houses in Moseley, Birmingham. Currently under construction is an apartment block in Banbury.
